Haloonaa Project Coordination Team is celebrating the Gurta-Gaddi Tri-Centennial of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Following are the main steps taken by Team Haloonaa as part of the series of commemoration events in the year 2008:

  • A Community Revival workshop themed "Sikh Rahit Maryada - Origin & Institutions" was organised on June 28, 2008 in which lectures and presentations creating awareness of issues facing the Sikh Panth were delivered. Participants discussed practical and realistic solutions to prevailing problems facing Sikh community. For more information about this event, please click here.

  • An instructional one day seminar entitled "Sevadar - Becoming An Inspiring Activist" was organised on August 9, 2008. The focus was to educate and empower Sikhs to develop strategies for those in leadership roles; to become constructive educators and role models; and to make a positive impact on strengthening their community.   • An instructional workshop, on topic "Pronouncing and Understanding Gurbani" was organized on 27 September 2008. The focus was to experience the power and transformational impact of the Guru's wisdom in our lives by learning simplified ways to pronounce and understand Gurbani based on logic, reasoning and grammar rules.   • A book entitled "My Promise with the Guru" was launched to integrate with the Guru to mark the 300th Gurta-Gaddi Divas of Guru Granth Sahib Ji in October 2008. Please click here, for more information about this event.
